Egyptian Numbers

The internet is a great source of information, unfortunately some of it is incorrect and spreads by copy/pasting. Even in the internet age, the best information is from in books. Books are written and edited by professionals. Serious students should double check all information gleaned from the internet. Books are often the best way to do it.

Egyptian Hieroglyphs for Everyone: An Introduction to the Writing of Ancient Egypt

Joseph and Lenore Scott, 1968, reprinted 1993
This book is an excellent introduction to Egyptian Hieroglyphics. It is a thin book and was written so people like you and I can understand it. I found it very helpful in creating this site.

How to Read Egyptian Hieroglyphs
Mark Collier and Bill Manley, 1998
This books is an introduction to reading hieroglyphs using artifacts in the British Museum as examples. A variety of examples introduce you to different aspects of reading hieroglyphs.

The Universal History of Numbers
George Ifrah, 200p
This is a big book. It's not just about Egyptian numbers, but it has a lot of good information. This book clarified a lot of details that I couldn't find elsewhere.
